The Women of Today's Manufacturing
holds manufacturing camps each summer for 8th, 9th and 10th graders at the EIGERlab facility at 605 Fulton Ave. in Rockford, Illinois.
The camps have been a huge success teaching students basic manufacturing concepts, CAD/CAM, precision measurement and shop safety. By the end of the week, the students have designed and manufactured a product which
they keep, and have toured local manufacturing facilities to expose them to the various types of manufacturing, making them aware how much the manufacturing world is a part of their surroundings. Some students have come away from
the camp expressing the desire to pursue manufacturing technologies at the college level.
We offer the manufacturing camps each summer. Students completing the beginning course have an opportunity to take an advanced manufacturing course.
