Celebration of Manufacturing Expo and Dinner

Perhaps the single common demand among area manufacturers is finding and retaining quality workforce. Whether it is for high skilled positions or simply a need for people with “ready to work” skills and habits, the manufacturing community is hungry for quality workforce. Douglas J. Jensen, the newly appointed President of Rock Valley College will outline his vision for workforce development and meeting the demands of the region.

Dr. Jensen has over 30 years of community college experience, including having served as president for Alabama Technology Network, part of the Alabama Community College System in Montgomery. Prior to that, he spent five years as Vice President of Economic Development/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Advanced Technology Center for Westmoreland County Community College in Youngwood, PA.

Most recently, Dr. Jensen worked as the Assistant Director of Educational Services, Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT) for the Alabama Department of Commerce in Montgomery, AL. Under the supervision and oversight of the Alabama Deputy Secretary of Commerce, Dr. Jensen promoted and advanced economic development through statewide education and training services to new and expanding businesses throughout the state.
