Celebrate Engineering Week at the Discovery Center!!

Saturday, February 25, 2017 - 11:00am - 3:30pm

National Engineers Week is February 19-25, 2017.

Discover Engineering will be held from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 25 at the Discovery Center Museum Rockford, IL. The purpose of the event is to demonstrate to elementary and middle school-age children the many ways engineering impacts our lives…the products engineers create, the range of jobs relating to engineering, the many local companies that employ engineers, and simply to meet engineers and ask questions.

Discovery Center wants to increase the public dialogue about the need for engineers…especially right here in the Rockford Region! We want you to help us bring engineering to life for children, educators and parents. We also combine the event with engineering badge workshops for scouts and showcase local student robotics groups ranging from elementary Lego Leagues to competitive high school robotics teams. Attendance has averaged around 1,200 people the past three years!

If your company is interested in participating, please contact Ann Marie Walker, marketing director at Discovery Center, by e-mail at annmariew@discoverycentermuseum.org or by phone at 815-963-6769.
